New Post

I have posted again at Weckworths Adventures.

We checked our counter an found that we have had 45 hits already today. Many from out of the country! I have this clickable on my map site and I think that is where most are finding it. Kinda neat.

Neal

P.S. let me know if you like this kind of trivia.

I, for one, love reading those little bits of trivia. Gives me a chance to go on your adventures with you. I get to see it with your pictures and learn all about it without leaving my house. Don't stop. Keep do what your doing.

I kindof enjoy going to site meter and seeing where my viewers are from. In one view they show you all the country flags. I also like the world map view. My very first viewer was from New Zealand. I knew then I was on the world wide web.

Neal, I went back to your site this morning and checked out your map link. That's pretty cool. I noticed there weren't any satilite icons in Kansas, though. Hmmm. It's a mystery.

No mystery! These are dishes on motorhomes and rv's. Too damn cold in Kansas this time of year! They will migrate to the northern climes soon though!

LOL. I'm sorry Neal, I was being sarcastic. I can think of a dozen reasons NOT to come to Kansas, the weather being about 3rd on the list, following nothing to do and nothing to see. : )

Great job Jeri!

Jeri, you got this blog looking and working real good. The "Start a new conversation" link works great. Don't have to go to the dashboard to post. Love the Peek-a-boo comments.

Thanks for all your hard work and tenacity to get it set up and working with such little effort on our part to post, comment, read, travel to the everyones blogs etc.

Good job!

Thank you, thank you very much.

That sounds better with an Elvis drawl. It looses something spelled out.

The "Start a New Conversation" link works better if you're already logged on to blogger. It may take you on a wild goose chase if your not logged on.

Very interesing. A lot of history there. Chuck's wagon, huh? And it all started right there. It looks like a neat place, I'm just glad I don't have to clean all those bathrooms!

And I see you learned how to put more that one picture in a post. Cool. I didn't know you could do that.

Neal, You guys did a great job of narratiing the photos with all of the information that you learned about the site. There so much history about everywhere in this country. Learning all those tidbits from the past makes going places a lot more interesting. That sounds like a place for people to put on there itinerary if they are in the area.

Link for New Post didn't work

Sorry, guys. I had to delete it.

I got on the internet this morning, clicked on my bookmark link to Our Kitchen Table, clicked on Create a New Post and it said, "The blog you are looking for could not be found" and it gave me a button that said, "Go back to Dashboard" I clicked on the button and it took me straight to my dashboard with full access to everything I have on Blogger. And I hadn't signed in! I was just viewing the blog like any other heyseed on the world wide web could and I was given full access to my dashboard. That's not going to work.

I deleted it off my blog and Niki, I deleted it from yours also.

There is supposed to be a way to make that link conditional, so that only certain people ( like only members of a Team Blog) can even see the link, but I havent' figured out how to do that. So until I figure that out, we'll have to create new posts the old fashioned way.

Sorry : (

I am shocked! Shocked, I tell ya! Jeri, made a mistake! She should be taken out and flogged! What a disapointment! Man what is the younger generation coming too?...

On second thought, since I have no idea as to how to do it myself, maybe we should cut her some slack and allow her time to get it right. Yah! that is the ticket. Keeps the onus off of us and on her! TEE HEE!

Keep trying Jeri it will come. You have taken it farther than any of us could have.

onus 1 a burden, unpleasant duty, etc. 2 blame

I had to look that one up. Gee thanks for the onus, Neal. : )

I know the "Create a New Post" link wasn't up very long, but if anyone happened to use it, could you tell me whether it worked or not and what it did when you clicked on it?

I was going to delete the 101 team blog, but I decided to keep it up so I could experiment with templates and html and not have to worry to much about screwing something up. My way of avoiding that flogging you were talking about. Hopefully I can figure it out and have the link back up before long.

I recall that it was working ok for me. When I clicked on it I was able to comment without a problem. I think that I had to log in to publish it. What may have happened to you is that you had told it to remember you and it did. Not sure. If you play with it on the other site you will come up with enough comfort to make it usable.

You may notice that I have not put links on our site to all of the other sites. The reason is that our site is out there far and wide and is being hit by many strangers. Don't think I want to bring all of that down on the rest of the family.

Jeri, I used the link to post the "Everything is working" post that I did on the 22nd. The first time I did it I got the message you said you got and the Go to Dashboard link. If I remember right,I think it was because I hadn't accepted the invitation to this blog and I wasn't allowed to post. Once I did that I was able to use the link and it took me to where is was intended to. Hopefully this information is helpful.

At Sat Feb 25, 12:14:00 PM, Blogger Jeri said...

Okay, I think what happened is, I clicked on the New Post link and it sent me to a page asking for my username and password. Then, I guess, it forgot where I was wanting to go and sent me back to the username and password page. I, therefore, didn't think I had signed on, but apparently I had. I clicked on my bookmark, went to the blog and tried it again, this time it gave me access to my dashboard. It had me a little worried.

I messed with the link most of the day yesterday and it never let me in without being logged on. So thats good news. The link works great works great if you are already logged on. It may take you on a wild goose chase if you aren't logged on when you click on it, but I don't think there is any security problem, so I'm adding it back on.

Sorry for all the confusion,
Jeri

Niki's blogs

They look great Jeri. I see everyone's links
I can't wait to start posting some more of
my poems. Just so that everyone know's
all of the poems that will be posted have
been written since I went to treatment in
2000. All of my previous works were lost
with everything else that I had before.

Made It! (Kinda)

Hi, Just a note to let everyone know that we made it to Mission, TX! Not what you would call a GOOD day.

When we were leaving the park this morning I turned a bit quick and caught a large rock that they put on the inside of a corner. Did a bit of damage to one of the bay doors and the rear fender!

Then we stopped at the King ranch and took the tour. About 3/4ths of the way through the tour the bus broke down. (Out near 40th and Plum!) Had to use a cell phone and get someone to come and get us. Other than that we made it. I will post some photos on our blog later...too tired and upset tonight.

Best guess about $3000.00 or enough to ruin a day!!!!

I missed seeing this post till now Neal. Sorry about the damage to the coach. Can you still open the bay door Okay and all?

It would be easy as hell to forget about site specific oddities like a big rock on the corner of that particular lot when you are traveling from site to site.

I always hate the hassle of having to get something in to be fixed too.

Hopefully everything is working ok and you can wait till you're ready to put the coach up for awhile to get it fixed.

Added a Link for New Posts

Look between the title bar and the posts. You should see a link that says, "Create a New Post". Try it out.

Now you don't have to go to the Blogger home page and sign in before you can post. Just click on the link, create your post, sign in and you're done.

I tried to get the Quick Edit link to work so we can edit our posts with one click, but I can't get it to show up. If anyone can see the Quick Edit link (it's supposed to look like a little pencil in the "Posted by" line) let me know. I may need to adjust my cookies or security settings or something.

Also, when you first come to the blog, do you ever see "Be the First to Comment" or "2 New Comments" or do you only see the total number of comments even if new ones have been added since the last time you were here? I added a New Comment Indicator, but Neal said he didn't see it. It works on cookies so I was hoping it would work for a team blog, but maybe not.

I clicked on the Create a New Post and it took me to a page that said:
"The blog you were looking for was not found." and had a button to go
Back to the Dashboard. I checked my e-mail and didn't see an invitiation to accept for this blog. I guess I need help to figure out how to post to this one. I don't see it (Our Family Table) at the Dashboard. :(

Also wanted to tell you that I can see the comment added update that you put in that you didn't know if everyone could see.

I see it worked this time. I made you an administrator. I don't know if that makes a difference in using the link for new posts or not. We'll see.

Welcome to Our Kitchen Table

Come on in and make yourself at home. This is a place where everyone can relax, catch up, share news, events, and pictures, and participate in family discussions.

Neal suggested kitchentable as the blog address since that is where the Weckworth's seem to congregate when we get together and I liked it. Believe it or not, I had to try out several variations before finding one that wasn't already taken. I hope this address is satisfactory with everyone.

If anyone has any suggestions on how we can make this better, please let me know.

Enjoy.

Hi Jeri, I got lost... and posted a comment on this site on your site, or our Team blog or somewhere else...... Just wanted to say I like the name that was decided on for this blog. It fits us. I like the peek-a-boo comments too.

At Tue Feb 21, 11:03:00 PM, Blogger Unknown said...

Jeri, one question on this blog. Are you the only one who can create posts and everyone else posts comments?

At Wed Feb 22, 06:12:00 AM, Blogger Jeri said...

You should have recieved an email invitation to join the team blog. I doesn't look like you have accepted yet, as your status is still pending. Once you accept the invitation you should be able to create new posts.

Also, as soon as everyone is aware of, and plugged in to, the Family blog, I will eliminate the 101 team blog to lessen the confusion.

The reason the family blog has the same template as the 101 blog is because I got the peekaboo comments and new comment indicators to work with this template. I tried putting them on my blog and had trouble. I have since figured out what I did wrong so it apparently wasn't the template that was causing the trouble. If anyone has a suggestion for a different template let me know.
