WELL, I CAN MARK ANOTHER THING
OFF MY LIST. I'VE GOT A JOB. IT'S SORTING
CLOTHES,ETC. AT THE DAV THRIFT STORE.
LOOKS LIKE THERE REALLY ARE JOBS OUT
THERE TO FIT EVERYBODY. IT DOESN'T
PAY MUCH, BUT FOR EVERY WEEK I'M THERE
ON TIME EVERYDAY, I'LL GET $25 IN STORE
SHOPPING. THAT WORKS FOR ME. YEAHHHH!

Good deal. Sounds like a job for you. And an extra $100 a month is a nice little incentive to get there on time everyday. You'll have more clothes than you'll know what to do with. I'm glad it worked out for you, congratulations.

I want a 2nd opinion!

It snowed here yesterday and I went out and took some pictures, some of which may end up in my Black and White project. While I was out there in the cold fumbling around trying to push the shutter and other buttons with gloves on, it occured to me that #64 on my task list is "Play in the snow". I went inside and told my loving children that even though it wasn't what I had in mind when I made the list, I think I played in the snow nonetheless. They emphatically disagreed. They say, "If there's no snowman, no snowball fight, no snow angels and/or no going 40 mph down a steep hill with a plastic sled under your butt, it doesn't count." I say, "I got cold, I got wet, I had fun, and there was snow on the ground, it could count... Maybe"

Here are some of the pictures I took http://carpediem.photosite.com/2ndOpinion/

What do you think? Is it "Playing"?

As Barbara says, "That is as close to playing in the snow as I want to get at my age!" . So I would have to say it is an age specific definition that you should seek.

I decided not to mark #64 off my list. But my loving children better grow eyes in the back of their heads the first time the snow flies again. They are definately deserving of a snowball fight. Ha Ha.

Hey! I vote with you Jeri. It looks like it meets the criteria of "Play in the snow". You weren't "Working" in the snow, or "Sleeping" in the snow, or "Watching" it snow. I'd mark it off, unless of course you like having the kids lookin' over their shoulders for snowballs heading their way! LOL. Those are some really cool pictures. They are great subjects for black and white too. You know like Tulips are all about the color, but these are nice.

I couldn't see your photo site but my vote is a resounding "YES!" You were playing, creation is totally playing otherwise we wouldn't do it!

At Mon Apr 03, 06:37:00 AM, Blogger Jeri said...

Thanks for your votes. I still think I was playing, too, but I decided a snowball fight with my kids sounded pretty fun. I even rewrote #64 to remind me that they have it coming.

Sorry, I deleted to link to the pictures, but several of the pictures will be in my Black and White photo project - coming soon.

Our motorhome is at South Padre Island, Texas!

Mike's son Reed and about 6 of his friends took our motor home on spring break. They only wanted to use it for the trip down and back so they could all ride together and take their luggage in one vehicle. They have a condo rented to stay in when they get there. He called when they got there (while dipping his toes in the ocean) and said they had a some moments of concern when they got into some wind and it was harder to steer and handle than they had thought about. But they made it and will drive it back home next weekend.

I hope the weather is more spring-like at South Padre Island. But 'm sure Reed and his buddies will have a good time regardless.

Ah Ha! Now you know that the motorhome is capable of traveling out of the County! Amazing isn't it! That sucker has usefulness beyond its recent past history! Guess you will have to get into it and try to see if it will take you to new adventures.

Regarding the wind down in the "Valley", we were pummeled with "breezes" the entire time we were there! It can become gruesome at times!

Hope the boys have a good time and tell enough stories to spark a fire in you guys to go camping more.

Got a call from Reed yesterday. They noticed the vent cover was off. They don't know when it came off. It's just been parked since they got there. Mike told him to seal it up with a plastic bag and tape so rain don't get in. They probably lost it on the way down, had it open for ventilation when they went through the winds.

Yep, we need to use it or get rid of it. Price of the camper would pay for a lot of motel rooms, airfares and car rentals.

Welcome Michelle. Good to have you on board. Would you like me to put a link to your blog in the sidebar? If so, which blog?

Welcome to the table Michelle! This has been a hoot. Jeri had a great idea here. Hope you visit often and chime in with your comments and new conversations.

Michelle, I added a link to your expletives-deleted blog to the sidebar. You made reference to it in your post so I'm hoping that's okay.
Also, if you add a link on that sidebar to your http://leivan.blogspot.com the family can find your painting site easier. :)

The photo of Mike is such a great picture.

Sorry we missed out last week, had a birthday party for my bro Steve last weekend and didn't get your email about Sunday until after it was past Sunday. I haven't been keeping a daily vigil on my email since I started working at Framewoods. We will have to plan something another time.

You guys have been busy doing lots of fun stuff. Eagles Nest Canyon is beautiful. Thanks for taking us along. And I'm glad to see you got sunshine again.

Your map says you'll be there till Monday. Where are we headed after that? No, don't tell me. I'd rather it be a surprise.

Great photos Neal & Barb. I like all of your narratives that accompany your photos too. Thanks for giving so much information about the photos.

I second Jeri! The Eagle Nest canyon picture is really a great one. Climbing down to the edge gave you a great perspective.

Looks like you have a lot to do in the area.

Looking at the folk's rigs and traveling set ups for fishin' they must make pretty great money fishing in those tournaments.

Hey! I talked to Mike! He said he'd fish for any sponsor that wants to put him up in a Newell, a fancy bass boat and a Suburan! If ya hear of any sponsors like that drop Mike's name for him.

Hi Dena,
Tell Mike I would be happy to act as his agent in the fishing deal as long as I can go along!

It mayy just be the angle, but the old bridge looks even taller than the new brigde. I bet that did scare more than a few passengers.

Jeri,
The old picture is of the railroad bridge. I could not get close enough to get it. The one I got was of the Highway bridge.

Jim's Doctors Appointment

Hi All
Took Jim to the Doctor Yesterday and the prognosis is pretty good, don't have to go back for 2 months.
The Doctor was real happy with Jim's recovery to this point. Home health care may be coming to a stop too.
Doctor wants him to exercise more. We have a rec Center onpening this month in Pryor. It will have a swimming pool, exercise equipment and all kinds of things for us to use. Membership is reasonable. The Doctor thought that might be a good thing to at least try.
Jim is getting enough equipment, that we will be set up good for the future. IE: small O2 bottles with carring cases (several sizes of bottles actually, b,c,d,and e). ozygen concentraror, oximeter and other miscellaneous things.

Wow! That church is impressive. Seems a shame that is sits there empty. The lawn is well cared for, it looks like it in the picture anyway, so someone in the area is maintaining it. Maybe just asking around will yield some info.

Its neat that you meet people on the road and run into them at different times in different places. How often do you run into people you know? Does it happen often or seldom enough that its a real treat when it does happen?

At Sun Mar 05, 07:54:00 AM, Blogger Neal and Barbara Weckworth said...

You would be surprised as to how often we see people that we have met before out here on the road. In fact, when we were at Port Aransas there was another couple there that had been at the Datastorm rally in Kerrville with us the last two years. She is an author and Barbara bought one of her books and she signed it for Barbara.
